thoughts on customers {{and a makeover}}

Isn't she beautiful?? {{twirling around with arms open wide}}

I just love my new look! And it's all thanks to the darling Savannah of MaieDae Designs! She captured my design eye, color scheme, and loves perfectly. Savannah was wonderful to work with patient, accomodating, and kind. I definitely recommend her services.

I'd been tinkering with the idea of trying to 'brand'{scary word}  lillypie for a while now. With one full year under my belt I felt like I know my style and my customers. My customers  are really important to me because---they are friends. I think of each order as a gift I'm sending to a dear friend.  The first headbands I ever made were given as gifts to friends and it makes me happy to think that something as small as an infant headband  or delicate flower necklace can bring a smile to my friend's day.

My friends are real women-- who are beautiful.

My friends are pulled together--even when they are a hot mess.
My friends are strong mothers--who take their job seriously.
My friends can laugh--at others and themselves.
My friends are beautiful--because they see the beauty in others.

My hope is that you decide to buy from lillypie because you see something pretty and feel inspired.  You  adore a  headband  because you imagine your little one wearing it  for her one year photo shoot. You love a necklace because you can picture yourself wearing it with your head held high. Or maybe you *just know* that an accessory would be just what a dear friend would love.  My dream is that you see me as a real woman--- this is inspired by love, struggles with  insequrities,  holds on to faith, and loves to laugh.  I see you as a friend.

What's In My Bag {my jo tote obsession}

One of my bigger purchases this past year has been my Marigold JoTote.  I received my beloved NIKON DSLR this Christmas and wanted a cute, colorful, and SAFE way to carry around my new{est} baby.

It was love at first sight. I loved my new camera bag and took it everywhere--including church because I loved it so much. /////Obviously////I would NEED my camera at church--you never know when the holy spirit will move and I was ready to snap snap snap away. hee.

It's so much MORE than a camera bag. It's my lifeline. It holds everything and is compartmentalized ( something I don't do very often in life).
Seriously--holds my life. What is it about looking in someones purse that makes you feel like you {know} someone? Snooping and eyeing inside a woman's purse  is one of the top no no's--right up there with admitting you clean your nose in the car, peeking at the amount of tip someone leaves, and letting the girl  that DRIVES. YOU.BONKERS. know that she has lipstick on her teeth ( icanbesomean...).

1. Circle Diaps and wipes--necessary.
Pink Dino--distraction toy during checkout
Sanitizer because you're not mom without it ( or so I've been told)

2. SNACKZZZZ and Paci ( for little one or mom--we both get cantankerous without them)
3. First Aid Zipper Pouch--This one is from Boogaboo Handmade
4. Lillypies--my two faves right now--I'm my own best advertisement. :)
5. "Dinks"
6. Phone and Gloss-My favorite gloss is BareEssentials in Peony
7. ADORABLE business card holder from  Oskarmycat
8. Wallet Clutch--another bag that I scored from the swagswap from BoogabooHandmade

9.  I'd love to say this is my list organizer for all things lillypie/family related, because that was the intended purpose. Alas,it is really my JUNK holder--but it's darling and it's made by  Allisa Jacobs--and i love her and therefore it.
10. Keys and Teacher Badge

So, there's my life.and it all fits   in my best friend Jo.

Wait, I know ya'll are like "Um laura,your camera isn't even in the thing!" Yes friends, I know...when I'd like to carry the camera I swap out the "dinks" (because I'm smart) and the first aid kit ( because lilly knows how to shake it off). After that switch the camera fits right in!

Rested. Perspective. and Time Out

Hi Friends!!!! I've missed you.  I've missed blogging. I've enjoyed my REST--and while resting is really flippin difficult when juggling so many things--I do feel like I have a new perspective on where lillypie is going and how to be the best ME I can. I have so many things jotted down that I want to write about.  Time seems to be the enemy these days because--it just goes so fast. I need to hop in bed soon because tomorrow is picture day and this teacher does not need bags under her eyes to be remembered for eternity in a yearbook---  Here is what I want to tell you--in a list.

I. love. teaching. second. grade.--new grade level, darling students. Teaching is fun again. A huge answer to prayers. Lots of em'.  Sobbing into my pillow prayers. God is good.

Lillypie probably won't ever be a full time gig for me. Sad, because it definitely was a dream of mine, but I don't feel like the Lord is leading our family in that direction.

Lillypie is a passion. A God-given passion to create and make things pretty. Lillypie is a way for me to release my emotions, thoughts, and personality into the world.

I want to dream with creativity and work with LOVE

I know I'm slow to jump on this bandwagon--but PTL that my phone broke because I'm loving my new phone---and INSTAGRAM.  It's sorta changing my life. :) I'm lauralillypie if you want to be instafriends!!

Dying fabric? Is.really.fun.  I love creating EVERYTHING about my new designs---right down to the exact color I want. My current fave is a fresh mint color. I laugh in the face of anyone who thinks this is only a spring color.  Totally adorable with plums, khakis, browns, and deep turquoises for fall.

Why can't I stay organized?

Lilly visits time out fairly frequently--she also dishes out the T.O. when appropriate. Tripping on  a step at the park on Saturday sparked a bossy  "Park Tynnouuu!!"   I'm going to copy this style----corner of the bed that I always stub my toe on? TIME OUT.  Irritating buzzing noise in my car? TIME OUT.

It's good to be back.
