puffs

Oh Puffs.

Why on earth did gerber decide to make them look like cat nip?

Lilly loves her some sweet potato cat nip!! She loves them in her hair. She loves them on her face. She loves them in her mouth. She loves them melted in her fat wrist rolls. She loves them mashed between her fingers. She loves them mixed with daddy's lovely orange foods.

Mommy loves them stuck on her head with squash covered eyebrows.

Lilly HATES getting them wiped off. She wants them to stay stuck to her forever...so she can snack all dayyzzz.

baby it's not you

IT'S ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, let me voice a tish of frustration. Remember how my lovely lump of 8 month cuteness HATES napping and would only do it for a decent amount of time for The Nap Whisperer? Well APPARENTLY everyone was trained in Nap Whisperer 101 except for dear old mum.
::gnashing of teeth::

Allow me to explain. This week, my first week of freedom, has been spent taking a final grad class to get my lovely dovely teaching licence, that expires this December, renewed.
P.S. The only other professions that REQUIRE this kind of continuing education are doctors and lawyers. I'm just saying...Anyway, Lilly pants has been shuffled among my friends to save some moolah. 1.) I have great friends. 2.) They are succckkkerrzzz for Lilly w/crazy hair.
Okay, back to my point...

Saturday-Nap Nanny {laura}= 30 minute screamfest followed by a 40 minute nap {unacceptable}
Sunday- Nap Nanny {laura}= 30 minute screamfest followed by 1 hr nap -improvement, yes,but still {unacceptable by mommy standards}

Monday- Nap Nanny {dad}= 10 minute screamfest followed by 2.5 hour nap {acceptable and applauded, 2 gold stars}

Tuesday- Nap Nanny {holly}= no screamfest followed by 1.5 hour nap {acceptable, fluke?}

Wednesday- Nap Nanny {angie} = no screamfest followed by 1.5 hour nap {acceptable, WTF?}

Thursday- Nap Nanny {alissa} = few minute whimpers followed by 1.5 hour nap {oh shoot moment, realizing that it's ME}
BABY, it's MEEEEEE NOT YOU! She will nap for everyone with ease and charm, but for momma? SHE. BRINGS. THA. RUCKUS.

Proof.

That her hair is ridiculous.

That we definitely need to lower her crib.

That she's adorable when she's refusing to nap.

That I'm a bigger sucker than mah friends.

Yes, my baybee gets two naps. Adding those details woulda just made this a long, tedious, boring, drawn out post. Stop your tsk...tsking, mommaz!

that remax balloon is a real friend getter

Driving home Friday I got stopped by a train. Every time I take this dern route I get stopped. And because I'm brilliant, I always justify going that route again because THIS TIME I won't get stopped. Well, whattaya know.

Anyway. Not the purpose of the story.

Sitting behind a long line of other unfortunate commuters I peek back at my babe in the backseat. She turns to look out the window and the legs start kicking and she smiles her big "am thuh cutesssttt wuuuuun" grin and does her suck in her breath excited squeal. Usually she saves those- I'm going nuts because I'm a chubby baby- routine for when she sees her favorites. You know mom, dad, glow worm, powercords, bottle. I was puzzled as to who or what she was smiling at so I peeked out the window to see what it was.

IT WAS A HUGE BILLBOARD OF A REALTOR!!! Right in her view. That Remax realtor was smiling right at her. Apparently she made a new friend. Could be useful when we sell our house. :)

happy .5 my deary!

six. months. SIX! SIX MONTHS YOU GUYS!!!!!!! ::whaaaaaa??::

When did this happen? Lilly is the big .5 today. Holy mother. I could go into the whole "they grow up so fasssttt you guyzz!" but I won't....I'm just thinking it. Those of you bout to have babies, HOLD ON FOR DEAR LIFE. Your life will seem like its on FF. the THREE arrow kind..not the one arrow. The one where you try to stop it and go to far and you think CRAP! I gotta rewind again. Yea, that kind.

Here are the babes stats:

Weight!
15 lbs

Height!
25 1/4

Eating Habits!
Just started regular solids. Night one of green beans could be summed up as an EPIC FAIL. She gagged, cried, and spit up/vomited them. Fingers crossed that night dos goes better. I've heard it takes a few nights. She usually eats bottle and cereal in am. lunch bottle. snack bottle. cereal and bottle for din. and a bed bottle. She drinks about 6 oz every meal.

Sleeping Habits!
Sleeping a solid 10 hours! Bed around 8ish up around 7:30ish. EXCEPT for the past two nights when Lilly was apparently invited to a late night bash starting about 3:00 am. She has woken up squealing, giggling, and being an all around doofus. Praying the late night raves stop.

Faves!
mirrors! cereal! mommy! daddy! bubble kisses! links! chuck! (her animal that Scott and I can't agree on whether it is a chicken or a duck). swing! (weaning...) smiling strangers! flirting! singing in the car! tags! trying to fly off the changing table!

Hates!
green beans! napping in her crib! universal health care!

Movements!
She's a rolling fool. Alllllll over the living room. CHOO CHOO steamroller Lils is coming! I now am FORCED to vacuum a lot more. ::bummer:: She also does the " ahhmm gunna flii ov dis blankee rih now mommeeee, watch mi flaap!" movements. Flippin hilarious.

Personality!
She is such a flirt. She will smile and squint those baby blues at ANYONE who passes. It's adorable. She will lift her head out of her car seat and look around smiling as if to say " Uhh-hello!! Beautiful baby here with a big pink bo-ohw! Do you see how cute I am? Gimme attennnnntttiiiiooon!" and it always works. "Suckkerrrzzz." She is most of the time a happy and LOUD giggling little gal. However, when she's mad or sad...holy cow watch out. She arrives like a hurricane and can ROCK. YOUR. WORLD.

I love my bebe and I'm so glad she's mine.

solids! sorta...

Can you spot the problemo with this "first cereal" concoction?
On Saturday, we decided to embark on a milestone. Baby girl was gonna get solid food for the first time. I got out my darlings "cereal box" and mixed up the glorious recipe for BABY'S FIRST CEREAL: 1 Tbs of cereal mixed with 4-5 ounces of warm formula. Does the above look like cereal to you? I thought to myself "Who am I to question Gerber? This must be right....runny and delicious." So I continued to stir it up while side eyeing this so called cereal. Scott wrangled Lils into the chair and I began to bring the bowl of soup/cereal to him. He looked at me and said: "This can't be right, did you follow the recipe?." In my best {ugh, you're always second guessing me, OF COURSE I followed the directions you nin-com-poop of a man }voice I replied looking at the box again. "YES, I diiii...wait....."

4-5 TABLESPOONS.....not ounces. Crap.

Much. Better.

I UV COURSE took a video and snapped 92 photos. It's what I do. I'm uploading it not because I think EVERYONE SHOULD SEE MY BESTEST BAYBEE....but because if I put it on blogger, I can watch it at school during my prep, lunch, the kids recess, and science test. :)

I apologize for the foul mood Lilly was in prior to her big milestone. Apparently the cute baby high chair was not cushiony enough for her likeness.

Oh, and the best way to knock you and your husband off the "we're totally a cool and stylish fun couple" list? Listen to yourself talking to a baby on video. Works ev'ry time.

Left a good job in the cit-tay....

Rollin.....Rollin.....
My baby rolls....aww yea! I have been trying FOR-EV-UURRR to get this on video. For some reason I have this belief that if I don't get moments like these on tape, it means they don't exist. So...because I'm a little looney, I've been trying annnnnnnnnnnnd trying to get it. And BOO YA! I got it. Well HALF of it. She rolled to her side from her belly and hung out there for a while noming on her hands. In super speed I sprinted for the camera and was able to catch the last half. See...she rolls and I got it on video. It exists. I'm awesome but Lilly is awesomer...because she rolls.

ROCK-N-ROLL!

Aaaaannnnnnnndddddd....I'm back.
This week. Success. Minimal tears. I could count them on one hand! Lilly knew what a hard week I had last week. So she bundled up some surprises. She musta thought to herself,

"awww shucks, I lovvvez my mommee. Ima give hur prezentzus. Furst, ah will laf and geeggle."

Yes, people I have a giggler. AMAZING!! She's a little odd. She laughs at things I don't find particularly funny, like Lady Gaga's "just dance" song and when she's getting her bootie wiped. But when I'm doing downright hilarious things like jumping up and down and talking like Dora Explorer on Speed, not a peep. That Lilly. That Lilly. So the giggles happened Monday. Then came Tuesday.

Then....and THEN....THENN!!!!!! She rolled over! Ohmigoodness! Belly to back. Belly to back. You know before Lilly
(I will call this my BL era)
I coulda literally cared less about the little baby milestones. Awesome, your kid pulled up. Pin a rose on your advanced kid's nose. Cool, rice cereal. Oh.wow.grasping.at.toys. Neato. But now.....WOAH!!! LITERALLY EARTH SHATTERING!!!!! Scott and I both witnessed the Great Roll of 2010 and screamed and whoohooed. Out loud. Really loud. and I immediately called my parents. The girl rolled over and you woulda thought she found a calorie free limeade the way we were acting. (Okay, maybe by the way I was acting.)

So Thank You Lilly! You have brought me outta my teaching-guilt-filled-abandoning-my-child-funk! This week has been easier and picking her up from daycare is my FAVORITE part of my day. I'm back in photo-snapping mode and I'm DYING to get a giggle and roll on camera. I'm working on try #7 on the rolling thing. She's a tad camera shy.

Anyway, gone are the days of leaving her on the ottoman and walking away. I must improve my parenting skills. Cause this chick is goin' places.

If you think this smile is adorable...you should hear the giggle. :)

Hold the phones!

TIME OUT!!!! In my world it's not Christmas season unless you sing and dance to this...

Yes, I am completely aware that I'm a loser and a tad on the over-the-top cheesy side. Don't worry, I'm okay with it. :)

you know you love me....xoxo
