Things I learned...

this week

1. they are NOT kidding about crazy hormones. i shed a tear over chicken salad and other idiotic issues this week.

2. tug-of-war at track and field day is a no no.

3. don't eat cold lunch meat when you're pregnant. apparently they aren't kidding about that either. i am now taking a haitus from jimmy john's for the rest of the summer.

4. picking a paint color for the nursery is hard. there are way too many shades of pale green.

5. don't show above stated hormonal swings in front of fourth graders. they will start crazy rumors during recess. i had diffuse rumors that scott and i were splitting up! seriously?

6. even if you tell your husband to use a drop cloth when painting the nursery; he will forget to move it and spill primer on the carpet.

that's all. :)

Please take note...

...that I am up and WIDE awake at 11:53 p.m.! I believe I have conquered the 9:00 dead -to-the-world-fall-asleep-standing-up-slump from the first 4 months of my pregnancy. Here is a list of the possible reasons for my insomnia:

1. When I close my eyes, all I see are little girl outfits.

2. I've sketched out an entire 4 page spread of how I'd like our little gal's nursery to look like and now I'm ready to get CRACKIN! Does Pottery Barn have power hours?

3. My mother-in-law is graciously going to be making our bedding for us and I may or may not have become addicted to fabric websites and quilt pattern ideas.

4. www.etsy.com (nough' said) Only go to this website if you plan on wasting 2.5 hours.

5. polar pop at lunch

my intuition ROCKS!

It's a girl! Pigtails and princesses here we come! :)

oh, the anticipation

Today is the big day! We find out if our little peanut is a he or a she. I am so excited. I've felt like a little kid for the past 48 hours anticipating Christmas! I'm so excited to see the baby today and finally give him/her an identity other than a snack food! ha. I've felt pretty confident for the past 4.75 months that I'm carrying a daughter. I've had dreams about it on numerous occasions and all my family feels that a girl is in the works. However, this morning, I keep thinking over and over again "Maybe because EVERYONE (excluding Scott of course, he's holding strong to his boy intuition) thinks its a girl that it will be a boy. My motherly intuition will already be void! SHOOT!" As you can see, I'm thinking waaaaaay too much. I'm over analyzing everything. Perhaps its because I've been bright-eyed and bushy tailed since 4:15 this morning. Once again, playing into my little kid at Christmas routine. :)

For the past week I've been scouring the internet looking for ideas/inspiration for our nursery. I dragged Scott to Lowe's to look at paint samples (I picked up 27!!). I went to 6 different "gender predictor" websites and I also have compulsively walked into our now EMPTY spare bedroom dreaming and scheming for our future child. Will the closet be full of pink or blue? Will there be frills or stripes? Sugar and spice or snails and slugs? The anticipation is killing me.
Baby Gambrel, we're coming to see you today!! MAKE SURE TO SHOW US THE GOODS! :)
