lilly's first photo shoot

just call me super blogger...here's another post.

Yesterday, we had our third trimester ultrasound. We had heard from friends who go to the same practice that they occasionally switch the machine to 4d and you get to see the face of your little one. We were reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllyy hoping that we would get one, but didn't want to get our hopes up too high. Lo and behold, we got one! The 4d ultrasound is like a little movie of your babe. It was the neatest thing. Lilly had her hands in front of her face 90% of the time, but it was still really cool. The ultrasound tech shook my belly to try to get little miss camera shy to move for us, and it would work for a second, but she'd go right back to using her hands as a face shield. After a few rounds of shaking, she starting putting her hands down and sticking out her tongue. It was adorable. Adorable when she's in the womb, but if that happens when she's older she'll earn herself a little flick to the face! :)
We were able to watch her for about 15 minutes and it was just amazing. So far we can tell that Lilly is:
1. is bald
2. has VERY full lips
3. has a button nose
4. likes to have her hands near her face

5. has a working tongue (whoo!)
6. has big eyes (we're thinkin' blue based on the genes)
We are so thrilled that she's healthy and growing strong. She is measuring right on time with my due date. She's approx. 3lbs and a few oz(s). She's breech right now which is not the best news, but not devastating. Please pray that she flips around in the next few weeks. If she doesn't flip then I'll for sure have a C-Section. Not the end of the world.....just not my preference. I get the heebie jeebies thinking about being cut open and having a human extracted from my body WHILE BEING AWAKE. ah. Yea, start praying folks.

Here are a few pics from yesterday. They might be pics that "only a mother could love" but some people might be interested in what a baby in-ute looks like. She's looking less and less alien like which is a big plus. :)

if you need me, i'll be hiding out in my house for the next 9 weeks. they might need a crane and the jaws of life to remove me from my house to give birth at this rate.

awesome.

44 ounces of heaven

I can say in total honesty that I haven't had too many so-called cravings during my pregnancy. However, I have lots of "mmmmmm...that sounds good moments." The other night, I had a TRUE craving. It was a force so strong that I couldn't think of anything else. I was willing to do whatever it took to get it. Here's the story. Scott was grilling porkchops on the grill and about 10 minutes before they were done, I had the overwhelming urge for a cherry limeade from Sonic. When I say urge, I literally mean URGE. My mouth started watering, I got very excited thinking about it, and was completely focused on my plan of attack. I cracked the window in our kitchen and asked him in my best "I want something, can I please have it oh best husband in the world?" voice if I had time for a sonic run. I then ran (yes, ran) to my car and drove entirely too fast to get to sonic. Pulled up to the drive through and had an amazing discovery! They make STRAWBERRY LIMEADE?? SCORE!!! Sold. I was debating on a medium or large, a small just wouldn't do. Then the voice in my head said, "what the heck laura, get the 44 ounce. go for the gold." Ooooooooook, I did. Paid my fee. Took a glorious sip. Had to suck very firmly, because a chuck of strawberry was lodged in the straw. Got it. Manuvered through the apparent car show parking lot fully of motorcycles, mustangs, old chevys, and random suped up dorky hondas and sped home in time for pork chops. WORTH IT!
Here is a list of my oooh.that.sounds.good.eat.one.and.be.happy foods from my pregnancy. (Sorry, I just can't seem to get away from the lists.)

1. The chick-fil-a sandwich...perfection in a foil lined bag day or night.

2. The chocolate chip pizookie (pizza/cookie) from BJ's Brewhouse. This one was just discovered last night. AH-mazing. A warm choc chip piece of heaven in a pizza pan topped with vanilla icecream.
3. The daily combo of cottage chesse/grapes/and ritz crackers. This has been my lunch for a week straight. Can't get enough.

4. Ah...my paradise bakery. nuff said. please open one in Avon.please.please.please.

5. Last, but NOT LEAST!! Strawberry Limeade from Sonic. No, the 44 oz isn't too much...why it's the PERFECT size!

If you ever wanna go on a sonic run for one, just send the word. I'll come running. (literally)

I Promise...

Lilly, I promise...

to love you unconditionally.

to try not to let your wobbly neck go backwards when you're an infant. Really nervous about this!

to pray for you every night.

to smother you with hugs and kisses.

to cherish every smile.

to never leave you without telling you "i love you".

to sing you to sleep with my own made up versions of lullabyes.

to read and snuggle with you for as long as you'll let me.

to teach you to love the Lord as much as mommy and daddy do.

to not be too sad if you have brown hair like daddy. Don't worry, we'll highlight it when you're older. (only kidding.)

to let you experiment with your own sense of style. However I do have a set of non-negotiables:
1. no socks and sandals
2. no orange and black, red and green, brown and black, or navy and black combinations...ever.
3. no onesies, tshirts, or outfits with the words brat, spoiled, drama queen, school messages, or any negative cutesy sayings on them. This includes ANYTHING with "licious" added to the end of it.
4. no cartoon/character outfits
5. dress for the season. no summery lookin outfits in the winter, sorry.

to give you boundaries and enforce them.

to be your friend, but not your best friend.

to never tell you that you're too emotional.

not to spoil you.

to take a fair share of adorable and embarrassing photos of you and display them PROUDLY at your graduation open house.

to let you be a total daddy's girl

to instill in you the truth that McDonald's has the BEST fountain cokes (this has been passed down through many generations of Hayden's).

to sing and dance around the living room blaring Disney and/or show tunes with you.

to take you to a loving and caring church and encourage you to get very involved and make lots of friends, even if they don't go to your school.

to let you make mistakes.

to not make you feel guilty for them, but help you learn from them.

to show you the wonder of a BRAND NEW box of crayons and how amazing it is to use one for the first time.

to encourage you to try new things.

to take you camping and let you be utterly filthy for an entire weekend.

to show you how to make a pudgie pie.

to cheer you on in sports (even if you're terribly uncoordinated, like me).

to listen to you when you're friends are being mean.

to buy you a beautiful dress every Easter .

to discipline you using love and logic.

to help you rip up pictures and burn mementos of a boyfriend who breaks your heart.

to show you how to bargain shop!!

to not let Scott hold a gun when a date picks you up.

to be stalkerish when you're in high school. I'll know your friends, their parents, their neighbors, you won't be able to escape me...sorry.

most of all...

I promise to do my best to raise you to become a loving, honorable, empathetic, respectful, encouraging, child of God; who knows how to laugh at herself, light up a room, and command respect from peers. A girl who has strong morals and a love of life.

I promise to always be there and always to love.

27 weeks

How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 16 lbs

Maternity clothes? : pants/shorts. I'm worried that once I'm back in "real-people" clothes I might forget to zip or button! It's nice wearing the pull-up/kid style for a while!
Stretch marks? No

Sleep: Awwww. I miss you.
Best moment this week: Little lady is getting stronger! I was laying out this week (per usual) and I was resting my book that I was reading on my stomach. My book started bouncing! She's moving my whole stomach now when she flops around. I laughed...out loud.

Movement: Lots! It's the best part of pregnancy.

Food cravings: This week I couldn't get enough ice cream down my throat.
Gender: I hope she's still a girl! :)
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out? shallow!

What I miss: sleeping on my back

What I am looking forward to: LOTS! My first shower is TODAY! :) My best is also having her second son, beckett this week! Can't wait to meet him! I also start my every two week appointments this week!

Weekly Wisdom: Don't lay out when it's over 90 degrees. No, being in the water the whole time doesn't help.

Milestones: Lilly's nursery is 90% complete
